Bonnie Pelnar
From the first images I captured with a rental Motormarine during a 1987 Cozumel dive trip, I was hooked. My hobby became a passion and my passion became a career when after 15 years in a successful corporate career, I gave it all up to start my own company. Now I live out my dream as a photographer, producer, presenter, designer, teacher, and marketeer for the dive and travel industry.
I am an artist who is very lucky to have been in all the right places at the right time throughout my career. I'm fortunate to have met and learned from the inspiring people I have, both then and now. I have a long history in computer graphics, teaching, presentation, underwater photography, desktop publishing, digital imaging, sales, sales management, marketing, prepress & print, web site development & marketing, and training development. I've designed and managed marketing campaigns for major companies, have produced 15 CD ROMs, designed about 70 web sites and currently actively market about 20 of them. I have over 1100 images published somewhere either in print or on the web. I've even had a couple of articles published in dive magazines. I am very fortunate to have had the opportunities and experiences that all contribute to what I do today. If you want to read the long, boring details of the experiences that have built my credentials to author the courses I have, click here.
I started working with Marty Snyderman several years ago with his web site and on other projects. Marty's online courses were then, and still are one-of-a-kind and are what inspired me to not only improve my own underwater photography, but share what I found to be successful with others who want to learn. Later, Marty and I worked together to create the Sea & Sea MX-10 Course and talked many times about expanding his courses to address the growing digital market. So we both and started moving in that direction. It was with the help and motivation of Guy & Jenn Miller that we finally made it all come together to create theUnderwaterPhotographer.com.
I've been working on the course "Digital Imaging Workflow and Image Manipulation" for over two years and have accepted the reality that it will never be finished. I love bleeding-edge technology about as much as I love diving, traveling to exotic countries and taking pictures. It is my intent to keep the digital workflow courses and articles included on this site as up-to-date as I possibly can and share the new technology with other photographers as I learn about it myself.
I am very interested in your feedback about the courses and features we offer on theUnderwaterPhotographer.com and I hope you'll share your suggestions for new content, so that we can keep all our members current with this rapidly changing technology. I hope you enjoy our presentation and I look forward to your comments and suggestions.
